Mining Due Diligence

A client commissioned Audere to conduct due diligence on a prospective partner, a mining company based in the People’s Republic of China.

In addition to public records reviews, Audere carried out discreet human source enquiries in China, including interviews with employees, government officials and competitors.

The investigation identified a failed IPO, an unusually high number of suits filed against the company for breach of contract, and a critical dependence on a small number of local clients. Based on the intelligence we provided, the client renegotiated the deal on more favourable terms.
